RSS: RSS is a family of web feed(or syndication or subscription) formats used to publish frequently updated content such as blog entries, news headlines or podcasts(kind of internet radio.)
How to Identify if a website supports RSS?
Please please please use Firfox, this is one of the best browser in market available for free.
1. key in any URL in the address bar.
2. if there is an “orange square with white radio waves” icon glowing, then that website supports RSS
3. few websites give might RSS in different pages, so please visit there respective pages to find the feed.
Tools Required:
1.Firefox as RSS reader or at least as a browser.
2.FeedDemon application for all your RSS needs. (my recommendation)
3.An internet connection with a no download limitations, or if your with your download limit.
How Does RSS work?
RSS= Bookmarks + Mailbox(Like outlook express).
Bookmarks?
Like how you book mark your favorite websites, its the same way you click on the RSS icon of that supported website. and configure later when to get the post of that feed.
(Feed is a like a Magazine, Post are like the articles in it)
Mailbox?
when you click an already added feed, or from your RSS reader application, you will see that it will interact with that website (back end) and retrieve all the latest (not read, compared to your previous attempt to update) like your mail box, they land up in your respective folder that you have assigned, like how you read a post, you read an article (it has a preview thumbnail and few lines, if you are interested you can click to read) you will have all the features of mail box like keep read, or not read, follow up, and others.
once read the article, it disappears from the mail box.
….to be completed.
