Many people have mood swings before two days and after three days of grahana or eclipses. I got many calls asking for help to curb the mood swings during the eclipse. I have met many western people who have mood swing during amavasaya.

First of all depression or mood swing can happen due to variety of factors other than our mind. The factors are discussed below,

  • If some one does not do tarpana for ancestors, then mood swing will set in.

  • Office politics can create mood swings. When some one thinks negative or positive about other person, one’s own mind gets affected along with other person mind. This works on the basis of law of telepathy. Thought waves hits the other person.

  • If there is mass death many people’s mind will be affected.

  • People who live in places where there is lower astral energies like near the wine shop, industrial area, too much in air conditions, mood swings will be common.

  • Certain combination of tithi’s like astami navamai, trayodasi, shasti, pratipada,amavasaya and poornima,  days like Tuesday Saturday, and nakshatra like ardra, sadayam and swati will be common for mind swinging in to negativity.

  • When you listen to some one’s negative and angry story or be with people who have negative mind, our own mind will get depressed. That is why sad movie have lot of impact on people’s mind.

Doing tarpana, offering the merit of your prayer for peaceful day, psychic protection, becoming silent or going with the flow during negative time or hours will be very helpful.

Personally I have seen many times my mood getting lifted when I light lamp in rahu kalam. Whenever I offer tarpana, the whole day becomes invariably peaceful. When I go into deep meditation I could pick up people thoughts on me. Some times I used to get excited sexually for no reason. Then I understood some women could be projecting sexual on me.

I am grateful to my family for this understanding. There used to be regular fights and bickering. Slowly as I observed I identified that on certain time in a repeated fashion moods used to get affected. Slowly I could see a pattern which could be applied consistently.  Many people have learnt from me on how to measure mood swings using the astrology chart.

If the western world of psychiatrist were to understand these subtleties of time vs. mind and space and how it affects the mood, it would do immense good to many millions of people who are eating anti depressant medicine.
