Introduction:
Swara yoga is a text of great importance and the only one extant which elucidates the science of predicting auspicious and inauspicious results based on the flow breathing through one or the other nostril. It was initially revealed by lord Siva to his divine consort Paravati. Swara etymologically means “ the sound of breath”. Yoga means “ union”. Therefore, Swara yoga enables the state of union to be reached by the means of one’s breath. Swara yoga, however should not be confused with Pranayama, Swara yoga emphasizes the analysis of the breath and the significance of the different Pranic rhythms. Svaravijnana is science of predicting about the breather’s health, his future and auspicious or inauspicious possibilities for him in various walks of life through the rise of breathing in one or the other nostril. All Puranas, Smritis, Vedangas and Tantras have originated from Swara. Therefore, there is no other better friend in this world than the Svaravijnana. This science of Svarodaya is superior to all other sciences, just as one needs torchlight in order to see things in a house, so for self-enlightenment one needs the knowledge of Swara yoga. Destruction of enemies, achievement of wealth, fame, etc. all these can be achieved through Swara yoga.
