There was once a man named Mojud. He lived in a town where he had obtained a post as a small official, and it seemed likely that he would end his days as Inspector of Weights and Measures.

One day when he was walking through the gardens of an ancient building near his home, Khidr, the mysterious guide of the Sufis, appeared to him, dressed in shimmering green. Khidr said, “Man of bright prospects! Leave your work and meet me at the riverside in three days”. Then he disappeared.

Mojud went to his superior in trepidation and said that he had to leave. Everyone in the town soon heard of this and they said, “Poor Mojud! He has gone mad”. But, as there were many candidates for the job, they soon forgot him. On the appointed day, Mojud met Khidr, who said to him, “Tear your clothes and throw yourself into the stream, perhaps someone will save you”.

Mojud did so, even though he wondered if he were mad. Since he could swin, he did not drown, but drifted a long way before a fisherman hauled him into his boat, saying, “Foolish man! The current is strong. What are you trying to do?”. Mojud said, “I don’t really know”. “You are mad”, said the fisherman, “but I will take you into my reed-hut by the river yonder, and we shall see what can be done for you”.

When he discovered that Mojud was well-spoken, he learned from him how to read and write. In exchange, Mojud was given food and helped the fisherman with his work. After a few months, Khidr again appeared, this time at the foot of Mojud’s bed, and said, “Get up now and leave this fisherman. You will be provided for”.

Mojud immediately quit the hut, dressed as a fisherman, and wandered about until he came to a highway. As dawn was breaking he saw a farmer on a donkey on his way to market. “Do you see work?” asked the farmer, “because I need a man to help me bring some purchases”. Mojud followed him. He worked for the farmer for nearly two years, by which time he had learned a great deal about agriculture but little else. One afternoon when he was baling wool, Khidr appeared to him and said, “Leave that work, walk to the city of Mosul, and use your savings to become a skin-merchant”.

Mojud obeyed. In Mosul he became known as a skin-merchant, never seeing Khidr while he plied his trade for three years. He had saved quite a large sum of money, and was thinking of buying a house, when Khidr appeared and said, “Give me your money, walk out of this town as far as the distant Samarkand, and work for a grocer there”. Mojud did so.

Presently he began to show undoubted signs of illumination. He healed the sick, served his fellow man in the shop during his spare time, and his knowledge of the mysteries became deeper and deeper. Clerics, philosophers and others visited him and asked, “under whom did you study?”. “It is difficult to say”, said Mojud. His disciples asked, “How did you start your career?”. He said, “as a small official”. “And you gave it up to devote yourself to self-mortification?”. “No. I just gave up”. They did not understand him. People approached him to write the story of his life. “What have you been in your life?”, they asked. “I jumped into a river, became a fisherman, then walked out of his reed-hut in the middle of the night. After that, I became a farmhand. While I was bailing wool, I changed and went to Mosul, where I became a skin-merchant. I saved some money there, but gave it away. Then I walked to Samarkand where I worked for a grocer. And this is where I am now”.

“But this inexplicable behavior throws no light upon your strange gifts and wonderful examples”, said the biographers. “That is so”, said Mojud, so the biographers constructed for Mojud a wonderful and exciting story, because all saints must have their stories in accordance with the appetite of the listener, not with the realities of life. And nobody is allowed to speak of Khidr directly. That is why this story is not true. It is a representation of a life. This is the real life of one of the greatest Sufis.

·         Every day offer one mala to three malas to people whom you have difference of opinion. The chant is ohm shanthi shanthi shanthi ohm.

·         Imagine a blue triangle inside the person or the person is inside the heart shaped container.

 ·         Bless the person as follows after the meditation. Rising the hand and palm facing down ward.

MAY THERE BE POSITIVE AND PEACEFUL COMMUNICATION, EXPRESSION FILLED WITH LOVE, CALMING OF EMOTIONS, GREATER UNDERSTANDING, PEACE, HAPPINESS AND SYNCHRONIZATION OF ENERGY BETWEEN EACH OTHER.

·         Do this for three or four minutes.

 ·         Then thank god for this wonderful gift of meditation.

 ·         Do it even three or four times initially then slowly as the relationship heals you can do it less.

·         When you do this meditation learn to follow your heart. Do not suppress any thing peaceful. Express the likes and dislikes in a nice manner. Give time for the other person to understand.

 ·         Just like knowledge love also takes time to sink in.

·         Do this and one will see amazing results and betterment in the relationship.

Many people find it difficult to get along with their family members. They feel the enemy is inside the house. A person inside the house makes us lose peace of mind very fast and that too easily. My teacher used to say that close people are our gurus. Love can be practiced out side the house because it does not have any resistance. When you can not get along with some one it means time god is teaching you on divine love. Of course many believe that they do not want to seek god and enjoy samsara. In god’s world it is god we are seeking whether we believe it or not and want it or not.

So how to heal this problems? Of course many people will use the methodology of cut and throw mechanism which means one more life time. What we love will not stay with us because we are free. What we hate will come to us again and again. One will be sure to born with enemies. But in the second method u will heal the relationship. Of course one needs to express his or her opinion in peaceful and kind manner. Expecting other people to understand us with out telling, boiling inside, praying they should go off, wanting other people to change is only a partial solution. The situation and people will come back once again. Love heals immediately but it takes time to create love in our heart. Unlimited down load of love is available.  Our own ignorance, delusion does not allow us to find this love.

There are conflicts which any seeker will experience. These are classical conflict experienced by any seeker in the path of spirituality. To be human is to experience these conflicts. Of course this experience varies from great saints to ordinary person in their life.

Divine will vs. our will – this is done by great Christ. When he hangs in the cross for a moment he doubts god’s will. Why this to me lord?  Then he changes words as thy will be done. These days the guru calls it as surrender or letting go. We experience this conflict, when what we desire or how we want others to be does not happen. There is intense struggle to make it happen and then we give up. We understand at a later date that what happened is for our own good.

Divine love vs. human love- we experience human love which has limitation of time, space, understand, sensitivity, expression, gender and many times we come to human love which is imperfect and we do not look beyond it. The main reason is that divine love is perfect, accepting and gives more energy than human love. We all look for divine love but unfortunately humans are not capable of expressing that level of love.

My intelligence vs. divine intelligence- We have worldly knowledge and intelligence which is useful for running our day to day affairs. But the divine intelligence runs the universe, the sun, stars and entire galaxy. When in doubt we do not see this intelligence. When in faith we are wonder stuck and praise this intelligence. That is why many great saints say god takes care of the needs when they surrender. They would experience many a times the mysterious coincidences, the suddenness of fulfillment of the desires which they attribute to divine grace and mercy. Of course it takes time guru’s grace to get in to the frame that god intelligence is taking care of you. Ask your mother she will tell you that god only took care when you were in the womb.  There is always ignorance in knowledge. When one comes to point of loving it become easy.

My speech vs. divine speech – my great teacher sensei calls it channeling. Of course in the nath tradition it is called as  aadesh. Modern spiritualities call it as the flow. When one channels the words of god suddenly there is answer for some one problems, one feels lift in the energy, one feels the moment is meaningful. This is done regularly by the guru. One can also see the great poetry, music and dance which not only makes u happy but also lift your soul to another dimension. What is spoken through is higher than what we speak.

Flesh vs. spirit – the classic dilemma of eating, sleeping and having sex. This dominates us many times that we forget the purpose of life. The bible calls it as temptation of flesh. The best way to break it is offer these mundane acts as way of worship to divine. The Indians calls it a karma yoga. Eat with gratefulness to god, have sex as if it is meditation as a way of practicing bodhi chitta, sleep by going in to barado.

Soul work vs. divine work – many of us feel meaningless with the work we do. This is called as disconnection of the spirit. When we do soul work there is immense joy, happiness and there is lot of purpose. The ultimate purpose is bringing heaven on earth. On a mundane level it is to bring one world, one government, one music and one religion. One can be successful yet one feels highly meaningless. This means we are not doing god’s work. That is why there is feeling of emptiness.  One needs to pray to get guided.

Sublimation vs. expression- to sublimate one’s own desire is very difficult. But one should start to sublimate one’s own negative thought, negative feeling towards people. This is called as metta. One ultimately reaches the point of transcending difficult people and circumstances and life becomes peaceful and pure love no matter what happens. What ever happens u see good in it.

Advantages and disadvantages of worldly life – one sees so much of pain and anguish due to ignorance in worldly life.  When one understand the disadvantages of worldly life and then one come to a point in sadhana where there is no conflict between worldly and spiritual life. Every act becomes prayer and every word becomes a blessing,.

Self vs. other – we need others initially but cannot be happy with them all the time. This is due to ignorance. Finally you come to the understanding that self and others are not different. The poet or artist experiences which gets expressed. Every one feels it as right due to universal ness. Like this one feels in love. There is oneness between self vs. other.

Ultimately one sees the self and other are no different or same yet they are different.

Nature has many mysteries. Like women who guards her private part which is exclusive access for her husband and for important occasion. Nature holds her secrets tight. One needs to have lot of energy effort time to unravel even single mystery of nature. One can call nature’s secrets as intelligence of god.

Trying to understand nature secrets or understand god has few problems.
Love nourishes. Even intelligent man needs love. Love is the elixir, the balm of life which nourishes. The more one is intelligent the more one wants love. The paradox is one can love god even without understanding any mystery. One can love any one and it does not require massive intelligence. When one tries to understand the mystery of lives one is tested for love. That is why intelligent people are not understood or valued by the society. They want love. One of the reasons why they have partners who are duds or not equal to their intelligence is because these people require so much of love. This love is given by partners in the form of admiration and praise.

The more one learns the more it expands. What ever one has learnt looks small and what one needs to learn looks infinite. This is also another paradox of knowledge. One can never know anything completely. One can learn partially the secrets of nature.

My teacher said beautifully in a conversation poetically

Only god understands this mystery fully
Who else can understand?
What ever any one understands it, is partial.

The laws of opposite and multidimensional reality makes the understanding more confusing. For example time has many zones which the great Indians call as lokas. The law of opposites like day and night, man and women makes it more confusing. Integration of paradoxes and looking into life multidimensional, one comes to the point that expression is limited. One can not say every thing in one shot. Only bits and pieces the communication happens. One requires gift of communication and constant effort to communicate this great intelligence.

There comes a point in sadhana where one feels mind is limited and one wants to go beyond mind. Knowledge, understanding and techniques will be transcended. When pure love descends, there is only silence.

Many people struggle with their habits. They want to break free of certain habits and inculcate good habits. How to do is the questions.

Practice any habit for 48 days. Just do it every day and it will become a habit. Just repeat the habit and do not worry. For example one wants to do meditation just do it every day. Continue doing this habit for 48 days.
Here are certain ways to change or inculcate a habit

    * Do it as the first thing in the morning -if you want to do meditation or do exercises do it as the first act in life.       The morning mind is fresh and deep impression can be left. This is way to do it regularly.
    * When going to bed in the night resolve to do it next day.
    * Take one or two habits at a time. Do not take too many habits.
    * Try to write about it every day which will help you to keep track of it.
    * Get the blessing from people who have mastered it.
    * Admire and praise people who have mastered it.
    * Try to see positive effects and advantages of the habit. For example getting up what is the advantage or What are the       benefits of keeping silent etc.
    * Try to chew habit bit by bit. If one wants to meditate for ten hours a day. Then initially it is possible for 2-3 days.       Then one crashes. So better to build slowly. This will last long.
    * Stop or change when you become aware. Many people who are binge eaters are not aware about their eating habit. When       they become aware they do not stop it.  Go through the motion fully. Whatever it is, drop the habit even if it half way       through.
    * Appreciate yourself when ever you follow the habit. This is fastest way to enforce the habit.
    * When some one appreciates your efforts, there will be a slump. Become aware, learn to celebrate this and this will       bring in lot of success,
    * Pray god when you find your old habit is asserting. This will bring in lot of success easily. When god is with you no        one can be against you.

The divine has many facets. That is why there are 24 names of Vishnu and the 5 names of lord Shiva. These are different aspects of the god. There are various levels of guru. Each guru allows one aspect of the god to be experienced fully.

Peace Of God – this is one of the easiest aspects of god to experience. Go to any temple. Chant any verses of peace, think positively of others, praise others, and be thankful. one can experience lot of peace. One can experience peace in the field of guru or in his place. Some people words have soothing effect. One thinks and sees the guru, and then also this peace is experienced. More a person is disturbed, the more he can experience this peace easily in the field or the aura of guru. One can gain this ability too by doing lot of ohm shanthi mantra and wishing well for the others. Very good example is Shri Ravi Shankar.

Love Of God – one experiences this by falling in love or caring for some one or serving some one or when one learns to give more than receive or one cares unconditionally. The gaze of ordinary mind sees anyone as gender or role which they play. Some times someone looks as a human. When the gaze of guru falls, one sees this love. It is as if one can be one self without judgment. When one’s prayer is answered also one sees the love of the god. One can read any verses of the great saint poet like Mirabai, tukaram one can feel it directly. Tears rolls over the eyes when one reads the verses.

Power Of God – if you see the mountain, the ocean the stars, then one can understand the greatness of the god. This same glory can be seen in lighting, tsunami waves etc. of course this is using intelligent way of understanding. One can see the great Sathya Sai Baba or one can see the miracles of the great Bhagawan Nityananda to understand the power of the god. Nothing is impossible for them. Every thing looks jiffy and unbelievable.

Intelligence of God- this is most difficult side of the god. The grand plan were light love is passed on to humanity is difficult to understand. For example trying to understand destiny or on radio waves or about cell is very difficult. Huge effort, energy and money are poured to understand the mysteries of nature. This is actually the intelligence of god. Mixing of paradoxes the multidimensional reality is so vast for small mind. One sees this in scientist, researcher etc. one can hear genius in any field but imagine a multi dimensional genius like the agasityar and bohar. All the great naths and rishis were capable of this level.

Beauty of god – they call it in sivaisim as sundaram the beauty. One sees in the smile of the child, the innocent laughter, the rose , morning sun rise. The poet, musician the artists try to express this in their arts. Beauty which stuns the mind and makes as feel the awe and the joy is another aspect of god which is well appreciated. One can see the great painting of ajantha and ellora caves, the songs of great thyagarajar.

There is infinite dimension to god but I have expressed a few of it. Religion or margs or lineage express one aspect of god or some of them tries to merges. The divine is beyond it and in it.
